The role:
The Commercial Department at Emerald Airlines is made up of various teams that work across a variety of business aspects. Our prime objective is to drive revenue and maximise profits. We do this through informed capacity planning and analysis, intelligent and skilful pricing initiatives, collaborative relationships and a firm eye on our cost base.
The Network Development Manager is a dual aspect role, working across both Network and Scheduling functions of the airline. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the Network Development Manager will play a critical role as a senior member of Emerald Airlines commercial team.
The role will take responsibility for network planning with a view of improving profitability and asset utilisation. As a part of the Network team, they will also take responsibility for the network plan in the various time horizons and the management and optimisation of network design in the year of budget.
Responsibilities
- Development of the multi-year Network Plan, in line with the economic and strategic objectives, based on the forecasts of medium-long term demand, fleet and other factors.
- Management of any network evolutions in the budget year, making changes in the design of the offering based on: benchmarking analysis on the behaviour of other carriers, analysis of network historical data and analysis of other events.
- Ensure the network design is optimised, taking into account feedback from Revenue Management, verifying the operational feasibility with OCC and the planning functions of organisation.
- Ensure accurate slot planning and management of the airlines slot portfolio, taking into account the optimisation of the schedule and capacity opportunities across the network.
- To ensure the management of the analysis and insights needed as part of routes subject to public service obligation (PSO’s).
- Assessment of economic, operational and other impacts of charter operations, in order to make a proposal to charter clients.
- To act as the IATA Head Airline Representative for all slot matters.
- Act as the point of contact for the airports and contracting authorities with whom Emerald Airlines have existing or future relations.#
About you:
The successful candidate will have :
- demonstrated success in the Network Planning function. Able to work comfortably in a close-knit team, he or she will be accustomed to working with a high energy, innovative, fast-paced organisation while dealing with multiple projects at the same time.
- a Third level degree in aviation related field, Logistics, Economics, Business.
- minimum five (5) years of experience in an airline network planning or scheduling role
- strong attention to detail.
- excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- high level of proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel and Powerpoint.
